Godalming is an historic market town in Surrey, twinned with Mayen and Joigny. it was first recorded in the will of King Alfred the Great of Wessex in AD899 and in 1881 became the first town in the world to have a public electricity supply. This bespoke map is of the area where I grew up before moving to Bristol in 2007.
A Whereabouts Map is a hand-drawn map of a street, town or village, with one or more close-ups of your home or favourite place, attentively drawn by Bristol illustrator and cartographer, Aidan Meighan.
Our maps are a perfect way to celebrate a new beginning, or act as a lasting reminder of a well-loved home soon to be left behind. Anywhere in the world, in the city or the countryside, a Whereabouts Map is a unique record of your favourite place and its surroundings.
These personalised artworks make for a thoughtful and unique gift to all homeowners, newly-weds and families alike.
Your bespoke, illustrated artwork will be a high quality giclee print, signed by the artist, available framed or unframed.
Our maps are all individually hand drawn and therefore typically take up to 4 weeks to be completed. Before beginning work or your map Aidan will need just two things: the postcode of the central property/location of the map, and a photo of your desired closeup/closeups.
